Any time you use things from life for models (and not any part of anyone’s drawings, paintings, or photos) you are making original art. Using any other criteria is opening the door to sloppy interpretation of reality and convenient moral terpitude and rationalizing. KISS.

Amen! to your statement that “creative thought” is really a culmination of all our past experiences. I am such a firm believer that all that we see is “feeding our brain” and storing information for creating our art. I gave a talk to our state quilt association this weekend entitled “Make Time for Your Creativity.” I stressed the importance of making art a high priority and giving ourselves permission to play and create.
